Donal studies engineering at NUIG. A former F1 in Schools, CanSat, and BT Young Scientist competitor, he now helps run F1 in Schools in Ireland. He built the fastest F1 in Schools car in the country, placed fifth globally, and won the Meta Engineer of the Future Award. He received the COMREG Award for a project using microcontrollers in buoyancy aids. A fiddle teacher and multi-instrumentalist, he splits his time between building and playing tunes at local sessions.
